Australian Greeting Card Association: Marketing Sub-committee

Dear Members,

The Australian Greeting Card Association has created a Marketing Sub-committee.

The Marketing Sub-Committee has been able to

a) align on common goals for our industry.
b) discuss ways to ensure our category remains relevant into the future via initiatives that encourage card giving amongst consumers.
This is important to Newsagents as the Channel remains the major one for greeting card retail sales.

The first major investment was agreed this week and the AGCA will fund a Radio PR campaign ahead of Christmas. The content will be created to remind people how much it means to receive a card and to also encourage people to send Cards this Christmas.

The centerpiece is the special postage rate for Post Office Preferred Cards qualify for a 65c Postage Stamp.

This will go live week commencing 26th November.

Your greeting card suppliers have Posters available highlighting this saving (see samples HERE & HERE). Ask them now for yours!

Radio is the preferred medium in the hope we could reach as many people as possible, across Australia, including Regional areas.

This will be a first for the Greeting Card industry and hopefully not the last as our commitment to retailers offering our products remains paramount.

We believe this is a great initiative and the AGCA has done an excellent job to align the key stakeholders for this exciting program.

VANA is a great supporter of the Australian Greeting Card Association and is delighted with its achievements especially in the special Christmas postage rate.

Regards,

The VANA Team.
