Recently VANA held discussions with the department of gaming to relay our concerns about the lack of commission growth and the necessary evolution of product development such as Powerball and the Tatts gift card offering.
The government is extremely keen to deliver a balanced outcome where all parties can come together to collaborate on the growth and direction of lotteries in Victoria.
The associations have now another opportunity to discuss these important aspects of the lotteries business with Tatts over the coming week and we will be pushing hard for commission growth.
We made it known to the government that our retailers have seen margin-eroding over a long period of time and that there is an opportunity for a more balanced revenue share model to alleviate some of the pressures that have engulfed our member base in the current retail environment.
