The Commission Review From The Lottery Corporation

Dear Members,

23rd February 2023

Re: Today’s email at 9 am from The Lottery Corporation about the Commission Review

ALERT: 2% INCREASE to our Members

A 2% INCREASE to our members is so welcomed and the National Lotteries & Newsagents Association (NLNA) prides itself on having a strong, robust but healthy relationship with The Lottery Corporation (TLC) across all levels of management around Australia.

We unashamedly support the pillar as the key driver of foot traffic in our industry.

NLNA celebrates three years today and a key supporter of the NLNA has been The Lottery Corporation (previously Tabcorp) since day one.

Positivity and optimism have been the cornerstone of the NLNA’s success.

It’s not where we have been as an industry, but it’s where we are going!

“We are here to improve your income, reduce costs and increase foot traffic and work with the industry.

I would personally like to thank Brian Laws, General Manager of The Lottery Corporation and Adrian Eaton National Engagement Manager of The Lottery Corporation, whom I have worked very closely with and will continue to do so. To Managing Director and Chief Executive, Sue van der Merwe, and Chief Channel Officer, Antony Moore – thank you for your support through this very detailed and thorough process.

Summary

  1. A commission rate increase from 10.3% to 12.3% of subs- for all lottery products, excl. Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot, Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot, Instant Scratch-Its, Coin Toss & Keno.
  2. An increase in Powerball subscription by 10 cents from $1.10 to $1.20 per game (plus agent commission at the new rate of 12.3%)
  3. A sign-up bonus rate increase from 1% to 3%.
  4. A digital commission rate increase from 2% to 4% for GREEN, and 1% to 2% for amber.

We as an Association, understand and appreciate the cost of living at the moment in Australia is prohibitive and the commission increase today is good news.

Yours sincerely,

Brendan Tohill | Chief Executive Officer
