VANA News

The Victorian Association for Newsagents.

It is with great sadness we advise that Max Stanlake passed away on 11/03/18 after a long illness.

Max owned the Kyneton Newsagency from 1972 until 1975 when he sold it and he then bought the Bairnsdale Newsagency in that same year. After three years in  Bairnsdale, it was time to sell again so in 1978 Max sold Bairnsdale and bought the Horsham Newsagency where he stayed until 1990 selling up for retirement on the Mornington Peninsula.

Max was still a welcome visitor to GNS and other wholesalers after retirement whilst helping out his son Peter who owns Newborough Newsagency. Max would pick up stationery several times each week for most of the year and every day at back to school time until just a couple of years ago when illness slowed him down.

The Board and Staff of VANA would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Max’s family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday 20/03/18 at Kingston Chapel 146 Argus Street Cheltenham.
Regards,
The VANA Team
